Technology & Systems Advisory

Align technology decisions with business requirements.

We help organizations assess their existing systems, evaluate technology investments, and plan changes that support daily operations and longer-term objectives. Our work examines business software, supporting infrastructure, and how information moves between systems and teams. We compare options against functional requirements, integration needs, total cost, and the resources required to implement and maintain them. The aim is to establish which technology changes are justified and how they should be introduced.

A new system is not always the right starting point.

An organization may have capable software that is poorly configured, disconnected from other applications, or inconsistently used. Replacing it may introduce costs and disruption without resolving the underlying issue. Equally, retaining systems that no longer meet operational requirements may create persistent manual work and limit capacity.

We examine how technology is used in practice, distinguishing limitations in the systems themselves from gaps in processes, data, or user support. This helps determine whether to improve existing tools, connect them more effectively, or invest in a different solution.

Our work can include

  • Technology & Systems Assessment — Reviewing existing applications, infrastructure dependencies, usage, and support arrangements to identify gaps, duplication, and operational constraints.
  • Requirements Definition & System Selection — Translating business needs into evaluation criteria and comparing potential solutions through documented requirements, supplier demonstrations, and appropriate testing.
  • Integration & Data Flow Planning — Mapping how information moves between systems, identifying inconsistent records and manual transfers, and defining requirements for integration, access, and data ownership.
  • Automation Assessment — Evaluating where system capabilities or automation could reduce repetitive work, with consideration for reliability, exception handling, and decisions requiring human review.
  • Technology Roadmaps & Implementation Planning — Sequencing proposed changes and establishing migration, testing, training, and support requirements, alongside expected implementation and ongoing costs.

Our recommendations specify what to retain, improve, connect, or replace, with the reasoning and dependencies made explicit. They give management a basis for allocating investment, coordinating internal teams and technical providers, and assessing whether the changes deliver the intended operational benefits.
